Leon & Ryan & Rob London West End Debut | Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends

Recently, three teachers from LAMT had their debut concert in London's West End, performing the classic concert "Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends," which was finally broadcasted on BBC television! This concert pays tribute to the renowned composer Stephen Sondheim's contributions to the world of musical theater and received the prestigious 2022 WhatsOnStage Award for Best Concert Event

In this dazzling musical event, a lineup of international superstars gathered together, including acclaimed actors Jenna Russell, Maria Friedman, and the renowned Imelda Staunton, known for her roles in "Harry Potter" and "Follies."


Notably, the concert was staged at the Sondheim Theatre, home to "Les Misérables," while the live broadcast took place at the New Amsterdam Theatre, where "Mary Poppins" graced the stage! Booking two major theaters in London for a single concert showcases the grand scale of the production and highlights Stephen Sondheim's esteemed position in the hearts of the audience.


The excerpt from the concert, "Tonight Sequence," received overwhelming praise from the audience. As a result, the production will return in September for a 16-week run at the GIELGUD THEATRE, offering more people the opportunity to witness this extraordinary performance!
